Data protection
1. GENERAL
The agency Caribic-Home strictly adheres to the provisions of the Swiss Data Protection Act when collecting and processing your personal data. Personal data is visible in the individual customer login.
2. DATA PROCESSING
Personal data is processed on paper and in electronic form in accordance with organizational and technical security requirements pursuant to applicable laws. We process and store the following data (first name, last name, address, delivery address, mobile phone number, date of birth, information about your purchasing habits, payment behavior, creditworthiness, etc.) for the following purposes: sales management of our products, customer support, fraud prevention, management of services offered on our websites, processing of customer inquiries, and postal address.
3. LEGAL CERTAINTY
The processing of data for contractual purposes is mandatory, as it is necessary for registration, the purchase of products, or the use of our services. The processing of data for legal purposes is also mandatory, as it is required by applicable laws. If you do not provide the necessary data, we will not be able to offer you the requested products or services. The processing of data for advertising purposes such as newsletters is not mandatory and requires your prior consent, which can be revoked at any time.
4. DATA STORAGE
Your data will only be used as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes mentioned above. This includes a period of 10 years from the date of your last order. For legal purposes, your data will be stored in accordance with specific statutory retention periods. After the storage periods mentioned above have expired, your data will be deleted or irreversibly anonymized. Data is stored and processed exclusively on servers located in Switzerland.
5. DATA DISCLOSURE
As mentioned in section 2, data is generally not disclosed in the usual sense. Disclosure only occurs for the respective and strictly necessary purposes related to our business operations. The data is used exclusively for internal purposes and processed by our employees.
6. YOUR RIGHTS
You may exercise your data protection rights concerning your data at any time. You have the right to request access to, review, and verify the accuracy of your data, and may request that your data be integrated, updated, supplemented, deleted, or blocked in case of a legal violation. You may also object to the processing of your data for legitimate purposes. In addition to the aforementioned rights, you may request the restriction of data processing. You can contact us in this matter in writing via email at info@caribichome.com or by mail at the company address provided in the legal notice.
7. COOKIES
Cookies are used on our websites. We do not assume any liability for external websites and they are not part of this privacy policy.
8. SOCIAL PLUG-INS
Social plugins from Facebook, Google (Google+ and YouTube), Pinterest, and Twitter are used on www.caribichome.com to make the online shop more personal. We use the "LIKE" button (also known as the "Like" button), the "Google +1" button, the "YouTube Follow" button, the "Pin It" button, and the "Twitter Share" button. These are services provided by the US-based companies Facebook Inc. (1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA), Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA), Pinterest Inc. (808 Brannan Street, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA), and Twitter Inc. (795 Folsom St., Suite 600, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA).
When you visit a page on Caribic-Home that contains such a plugin, a direct connection to Facebook, Google, Pinterest, and Twitter is established. If you are logged into Facebook or Google, these platforms can associate your visit with your Facebook or Google+ account. If you interact with the plugins—for example, by clicking the "Like" button or leaving a comment—the relevant information is transmitted directly from your browser to Facebook and stored there. Logging out of Facebook or Google+ prevents the data from being associated with your respective profile.
If you click the Pinterest "Pin it" button while logged into your Pinterest account, you can link the contents of our website to your Pinterest profile. Pinterest can thus associate your visit to our site with your user account. By using Twitter and the "Re-Tweet" function, the websites you visit are linked to your Twitter account and made known to other users. Data is also transmitted to Twitter. Your internet browser establishes a direct connection to Twitter’s servers and transmits data to Twitter. We would like to point out that we have no knowledge of the content of the transmitted data or how it is used by Twitter and Pinterest.
For more information about how your data is used after giving your consent, please refer to the privacy policies provided by Facebook, Google, Pinterest, and Twitter on their respective websites. There you will also find additional information about your rights and privacy settings.
9. CHANGES
We may make changes to this privacy policy at any time.
